Thoughts from the Chatsworth Primary Hallway

Today marks the end of the 2015-2016 school year.  Class parties celebrate the fact that another school has ended and the summer vacation is upon us.  An end of a school year marks the end of primary school for our Year 6 students.  This week we celebrated the graduation of our Year 6 students in a touching ceremony supported by the Year 6 teachers, Mr Snell, Miss Smyth and Mr Withington, together with Mr Marcelo and accompanied on the piano by Miss King.  A group of students prepared a "thank you" video for their teachers with the help of Miss McLean.  We wish the Year 6 students all the very best in Year 7 and the next chapter of their schooling in the secondary school.

We also say goodbye to many students who will move on to new countries, return back to their home country or to new schools.  We thank you for being part of our school community and wish you all the very best in your new schools.

A number of teachers are moving on to new adventures in new countries and we also wish them well in their new schools.  We say goodbye to Mr and Mrs Withington, Mr Drury (who is moving to our East campus), Miss Taylor, Miss Debbie, Miss Baker, Miss Heidi, Miss Neelam and Mrs Hebert.  We will certainly miss all of our departing teachers and students.

A heartfelt thank you to our Chatsworth community for your constant support throughout this school year.  I wish you all a happy and restful summer vacation and for those of you returning to Chatsworth, I look forward to seeing you again in August.  Safe travels.

Jeux de la Francophonie
The Jeux de la Francophonie (Canadian English: Francophonie Games; British English: Francophone Games (French-speakers' Games) or The Francophonie) are a combination of artistic and sporting events for the Francophonie, mostly French speaking nations, held every four years since 1989, similar in concept to the Commonwealth Games.

Our French students and teachers, Mdm Hebert and Mdm Yard organised a spectacular Jeux de la Francophonie event on the basketball court this week.  It was wonderful to hear the teachers and students speaking and listening to French while participating in sporting events.  Compliments to our French teachers.

Year 4 Buskers Day
A celebration of learning in music took place this week.  The year four students sang songs, played musical instruments and prepared dance routines as part of their Buskers Day lunch time event. Thank you to Mr Marcello and the Year 4 students for an entertaining lunch time.

Kindergarten End of Unit Celebration at Gardens By The Bay
Today our Kindergarten classes enjoyed a day at the Gardens By The Bay. The water play area at Gardens by the Bay is a wonderful space for children to play and enjoy our warm Singapore weather.  The trip connected to their How the World Works unit of inquiry, the central idea of which is “The process of investigation leads to new discoveries”.

Thoughts from the Chatsworth Primary Hallway

This week has been an incredible week of learning and the pictures that follow will give you a sense of the learning and excitement shared by both teachers and students alike.

Thank you to all of the parents that help us around the school throughout the year.  This morning our House Team Captains Ella Redpath, Milla Bellancourt and Matthew Cox led us through a wonderful assembly dedicated to the CPG and the Homeroom parents that support us.  Thank you also goes to all of that support the primary school every day.
