Thoughts from the Chatsworth Primary Hallway

Technology is the campfire around which we tell our stories.
–Laurie Anderson

When you take a look around you whether on a bus, train or in a coffee shop you will see all sorts of technology being used for a variety of purposes. I wonder at times where we would be today without the technology that has become part of our everyday life? I am so reliant on my phone, laptop and iPad that when I leave one behind I wonder what the day will bring without it!  This is our world, and the world in which our children are experiencing every day.  When I walked around the primary school this week, popping in and out of classes, I witnessed how our students use technology for a variety of purposes. Students all over the school were huddled together with their laptops exchanging thoughts and ideas, sharing stories! (The only thing missing was a campfire!). In Year 4 the students were working on developing a mathematics game for younger students. The Year 5 students were researching an invention and its usefulness for a 30 second presentation. Other Year 5 students were working on developing their portfolios.  In Year 3 students were publishing their narrative stories, as well as using google maps to discover what information you can gain from maps. Year 4 students published their stories on their YouTube accounts and shared them with K2 students. The list goes on and on, take a look...
