Perspectives from the PYP Coordinator

We said good bye this week to our Year Six, Year Five and Year Four students as they traveled off to camp for a few days this week.  In this program we have many goals, such as the development of personal attitudes like confidence, cooperation, empathy, independence, respect and tolerance. As students develop these skills, our hope is that they become risk-takers that are more balanced, open-minded and caring. In the Singapore Today’s article on camps and education, Laura Philomen notes that "An increase in confidence and having a less self-centred outlook are some of the positive changes that camp organisers have seen when students are taken out of their comfort zones and put through a camping experience."


As you can see from the photos below, our campers are excited (maybe even the parents a bit too) about the adventures ahead of them. We eagerly await their stories of all their special times.
